Your school nurse and support staff play a critical role in student safety. MiSchool Nurse offers professional MERT (Medical Emergency Response Team) training to ensure your staff is prepared to respond calmly and effectively to medical emergencies at school. Authorized by the American Heart Association and American Red Cross, this half-day course helps schools build a coordinated response team and stay up to date with current safety standards.
MERT training equips educators and staff to handle emergencies including asthma attacks, diabetic emergencies, seizures, and sudden cardiac arrest. While school nurses may be aware of individual student health needs, all staff should be ready to provide emergency first aid when needed. Emergency preparedness protects students, supports learning, and creates a safer school environment for everyone.
By enrolling your staff in MERT training, you strengthen your school’s ability to provide exceptional care, confidence, and peace of mind—because student safety is essential to student success.
